My little sister picked up an unfired Winchester SuperX1 with a 26" barrel choked Skeet. The receiver is factory engraved and the wood is excellent. She's giving to our father for Christmas. Any idea of the worth. She only paid $200. It had to be highway robbery.

I haven't looked at SX1 prices lately but from what I remember
here is my opinion. Skeet and trap models bring more than
field models. Late model guns with late model trigger and late
model rib are worth about $250 more than early models without.
My guess from this is its worth about $550-600 if an early model
and about $800 if a late model unfired skeet.

Just an added note here: Make sure the gun has a new bolt
buffer installed in it, before it is fired. The bolt buffer is
required to keep from damaging the bolt when it is fired. The
original bolt buffers have probably disintegrated by now and
even if it is there will probably disintegrate on the first shot.
I bought an unfired field model several years back and that
one had a missing bolt buffer, probably from falling apart and
then falling out of its mounting hole. Some would also say
that the recoil spring should be replaced since it has sat
compressed for so long, but I believe it should be okay to
fire it with low power loads once the recoil buffer is replaced.

Lycanthrope,

Your little sis did exceptionally well !

Joe Cool gave you excellent advice for getting your dad off on the right foot with the SX-1 .

You might consider getting a parts list from Nu-Line Guns at
(573) 676-5500 . If the owner's manual wasn't with the gun ,
Nu-Line has a take-down manual that might be of interest to your dad .

If you other SX-1 info , there are a number of shooters here that can probably help .
