You can upload photos to this site using the 'Photos' tab, then open them and 'copy/paste' in between format.

Beautiful Kingcobb !

Some of you may recognize this stock , The photos was lost from this thread in the recent PB debacle.

I recently found myself in the fortunate position to acquire this gun. It's a '55 Gr. III ( Fighting Cocks ) Dbl. Funken.

Just thought you may enjoy !

Yeah, I remember that one. 'Probably should have kept it but it's nice to see it go to someone who appreciates the same qualities I saw in it. Some guns just have a character of their own, brought-out mostly by the wood. There is nothing dull about this example. Congratulations!

Captjsjr – the wood on your gun actually have some similarity with the wood on my ’39 B1.

Boudy , that is a beautiful piece of wood on a gorgeous gun. You are a Lucky man! The wood on mine was what caught my interest before it was for sale. When it was offered to me I couldn't pass it up. Bastogne's finest ?

What is the connection with Bastogne and FN/Browning? I only know about the heavy battles
that culminated during Christmas 1944 .

Boudy , Bastogne walnut (juglans x paradox ) Has been and I believe still is used for gunstock blanks. It was known for various colored streaks. generally a very interesting grain structure. this was a cross between a couple of different members of the juglans species. What I was referring to was my ASSumption that FN used French walnut from the Bastogne region , whether they did so or not I'm unsure.

P.S. God bless the" battling bastards of Bastogne " I had the pleasure of knowing one of them well until his passing 3 yrs. ago
