 Post subject: New 12GA 870 trigger into older 870......

One for the 870 experts.............I have a older full size frame 870 Wingmaster 20GA, will the trigger group from a new Wingmaster or Express 12GA work, I believe the trigger assembly for all the full size frame guns, 12GA, 16GA and 20GA was the same, any info much appreciated.

I believe everything but the carrier is the same, IF you get one with the aluminum housing. I don't know about the polymer one.

I have a "newer (1986)" Remington 870 with the black shell carrier. I tried an older 870 trigger group (with the chrome carrier) in my 86 gun. While the trigger group fit in fine it had difficultly locking the action completely closed. I had to apply more pressure to get it locked.
