Simple question: I really like the look of the bolt in the new 1187 with the PVD finish. I was under the impression that the bolt would fit. I thought the extractor was fine since I'm using it with the newer steel shot barrel. The factory said they weren't sure if it would function. I would be buying the complete bolt minus charging handle. Will this work or do I just send my factory bolt to Camo solutions to have gun koted black?

It should work, only diff would be the extractor is wider on the 1187, and the corresponding slot in the barrel might need to be opened a little.

I think I'm running an 1187 non mim extractor on it now...I think the steel shot barrels are a little more open than the older 1100 factory barrels.

Moose,
My 2014 Rem parts list shows a F101915 1100 breach bolt assembly and a F101915 1187 breach bolt assembly. Should be the same.

Should fit as the barrel slot should already be wider on that barrel. I have yet to see an MIM extractor on an 1100 or 11-87, but if it is it's the 'standard' wider size.

Have you looked for a black 1100 Sportsman synthetic bolt on eBay? They show up once in a while.

I just bought a new 11-87 Sportsman and the extractor appears to be machined / not MIM. I'm also happy to report that the fit and finish looks pretty good as well.
