 Post subject: Scratch in 390 stock

I have the 390 Silver Mallard the gun is like new except for a scratch in the stock not down to the wood.I wonder if it could be wet sanded with 800 grit paper then buffed out.

I have had success in the past with Rubbing Compound and paste furniture wax. I also keep around, Stain Sticks, the type that are felt tip pen types in multiple darkness's of stain. Use those when the nick is down to the wood.

Ace Hardware: Minwax Blend Fil Pencil. Comes in a variety of shades to match just about anything. The cabinet maker's friend. I think Woodcraft has something similar.
