I purchased a wood buttstock on eBay for my Maverick, listed as a 12 Ga stock. However, it is about 1/16" narrower all the way around at the receiver. Does this mean it is a 20 Ga stock? .410?

Who's gonna tackle a post titled "A question about BUTT size?" It's a wonder you didn't get banned for that one!

My thought exactly.
There is no good answer to a question about butt size, you are wrong no matter what the response is.
Sorry, I cannot help in this specific case relating to a firearm..

Very little sense of humor here. lol

Oh well, I believe I have my answer from this picture. It must be a 20 ga stock. Bummer that it fits me perfect, but not the receiver.

Funny thing. I contacted the seller, and they sent me out a second stock to make up for the discrepancy. The one they sent is actually a 12 gauge stock, but has been cut about 1" shorter. And I actually like the feel of it better. lol

The stock is a bit worse for wear, but matches my forend well, and it has a cutout for a medallion in the right side.

Havlin has the correct medallions for $4, BUT, I found this bicentennial coin on eBay for $5 shipped, and I'm gonna glue that in.

We're glad to hear that you found a butt that fits you and that feels good. Good fit and good feel is what it's all about.  :D

And a medallion just makes it that much better.
