 Post subject: Three older 12 gauge 37s

This photo is of three of the older 37s I have. All are 12 gauge, 28" barrels.

Left to right:
#490XXX modified plain barrel, gun in real good shape; don't think it was shot much or even carried much.
#235XXX full plain barrel, little rough on the outside and the barrel has what looks like chickenpock scars on the inside; not really rust just a number of round shallow holes. Works good however.
#62XXXR 28" modified raised rib. Not bad shape, I do think the buttstock was changed and does have some small cracks at the receiver.

Didn't check choke diameters, sorry.

We usually call that type of rib a solid rib. Check in the tang areas of the stock for a serial number. That may help you determine if it has been replaced. The other two look to have the pre war stock profiles with post war checkering. As you say the first on looks very nice.

Very nice. Your 3, Bob. 37's are my favorite vintage for Ithaca pumps. Stocks that fit well, back in that era.
