Buying a new Montefeltro 12 gauge and the Benelli website lists the shims as optional. I've read where a few guys have said the Montefeltro comes with shims. Can anyone tell me for sure if they come with the shim kit or not? I handled one at the sporting goods store a while back and it handled and pointed good so I might not even need the shims. I guess I'll find out Monday when I open the box.

Mine did not come with them. I e-mailed them about it. They said shims were not included with the guns after a certain date, and wanted to know my serial number.
They sent me a set of shims for free!
I should add that I bought my gun used, and told them that. Good customer service.

Dang it. Was hoping if I pay $1000 for a new shotgun they would at least throw the shims in. Thank you for the reply. I guess I'll contact them if it turns out I need the shims. Mine will be here tomorrow so I'll shoot it this week and see.

Mine didn't come with them, either. But I bought a set for $20 on EBay. However, I have never used them, or felt the need. But I wanted to have them, anyway.

That is so very, very common. People want shims, but if you ask them why they want them, or what they are trying to do it is often deer in the headlight time.

Change the drop on a shotgun with a shim, you did more than that: you just changed the pitch of the butt as well, and your point of impact: a couple of things that you may not want at all.

Curious, do they offer shims for cast for that gun?

I have an older Super 90 that came with shims. The gun out of the box with the "normal" shim shot high, very high, for me. I finally used the shim that dropped the butt the most and now it shoots normally for me. You may have a different experience, of course.

Thanks Randy. Nice to see they work for several of their autos.
