Looking for a new gun. Is the performance shop sb2 worth the extra money over a regular sb2? I want a gun that can shoot 2 3/4" 1oz shells up 3 1/2" shells. I will use it mostly for hunting but also as my back up clays gun.

I would say no.

I don't see the purpose of spending the extra money unless you know you want those upgrades from the get go. You can always have all the work done later on if you decide you want to make some changes to the gun.

Both of my Benelli Semi autos (Legacy Sport and M2) will shoot 1 oz shells without those upgrades so if that's your only reason, i'd just get the std SBE

There is no reason to bother with any SBE2 right now.

This is the perfect time to pick up an SBE2 on clearance and let the fools pay the SBE3 price increase.

^ditto^, except the SBE3 has the spring assist thingy to keep the bolt in battery so you don't get the Benelli click. That's the only upgrade worth mentioning on the gun. I don't understand the trend of making a 3.5" gun lighter and lighter every few years. I have shot a SBE1 since they come out with the SBE2. Not enuff difference in them to trade "up" (chuckle) every few years unless your gullible for the latest and greatest or like keeping g up with the Jones'.
