What barrel length does your Red Label have, and what sports do you use it for?

Good to see you posting in the "I love my Ruger" forums. By your posting here I assume you a fan. :D If not, maybe you should post your comments elsewhere.

Maybe he is like one of those gay-bashing homophobes who locks his bedroom door at night and watches gay porn.  :P

They hate us only because deep down, they really want to be us.

The anti-Ruger guys always crack me up. I have a 30" RL that I have put thousands of rounds through without a problem. Period. I also own Ruger stock that is giving me 6.5-8% dividend (I bought from $9.50 - $15 over the last 5 yrs).

I don't have an over and under yet, but, I have got my eyes on a red label, they are cheap($900) but look quallity, unlike their bolt action .22s, way over priced, CZ is the same thang' just $200 cheaper!

I bought one at a gun show three weeks ago (20 gauge, 28", modified/full, all blued, built in 1986). Wasn't looking for one but the guy only wanted $600 for it and the wood was just beautiful, no blue wear, or dings in the stock so I thought what the hell, if I dont like the way it shoots I'll sell it and make a few bucks. The weather finally was decent enough to do some shooting today, and oh my God can this gun shoot! There were four of us trying it out today, Me, my best friend, my 12 year old son, and my Dad. We all shot one box of shells at 25 clay birds (informal trap) I missed 3, Nate missed 3, Travis missed 2, and Dad broke all 25. None of us had ever shot a Red Label before and all were impressed by how natural it points. Dad even wanted to trade his 28 gauge BPS and $300 for it (I have been trying to weasel him out of that gun for awhile. Needless to say I'm keeping this one. I love mine too!

I hunt. I do not shot what I can not eat. I do not put thousands of rounds through my shotgun, but I love my 28ga 26" Red Label. I have shot hundreds of bunnies and dove with this little gun and never had a problem.
I hit game better with it than with my Browning Auto-5, Winchester Mod. 59, Stevens 311 20&12ga, or any of my Remintons. I have over 180 guns and hunt anything that moves. I Wish I could hunt everthing with my 28ga Red Label.

Ruger build's a fine gun for the money! I have a krl1226 br that I bought used and have shot over 30.000 rounds through in 1 year. I had also shot my first 100 straight with this gun with my 28ga tubes installed!

I owned a Red lable for 10 years and could shoot it well. Once while hunting in very cold weather the second barrel did fire after I missed a phesant with the first barrel. Once a gun lets me down I think about getting rid of it. It had the best looking wood I ever seen on a Red Label, seems like wood on the new Red Lables are pretty plane looking.

i have a 12 ga. red label bought new last year and the wood is far from plain. it makes the wood on my brownings and beretta look like plywood. this is a neat gun. no malfunctions, no complaints. who'd a thunk it.

I have 2 red labels, and wouldn't shoot anything else. One is a rare B engraved 20 ga. with exeptional wood, and the other is a 28 ga Golden Quail.
I like the more slender feel of the Red Label, and I have never had a malfunction ( unlike the Brownings at our Club, especially the new ones out of the box). I can also afford them! My Red Labels break those targets as well as those high dollar competition guns out there! And, they are 26" bl, perfect for the field! :)

I have 3 Red Labels currently, 2 12's and a 28. I shoot trap, skeet and sporting clays with all 3. The oldest of the 3 was bought in 1988. I have shot it the most and shoot it regularly now. None of them has given me any problems. I just posted elsewhere about my dislike of the Ruger Rifles. I don't have any more of them laying around and won't.

I am glad to know that I am not alone in my appreciation for the RRL's. Boy, you mention owning one and liking it in another forum and you could get shot with a Citori.

weatherbys shoulder canted, brownings are high in the front, berettas just did not feel right. i'm 6 ft tall and 180 lbs and do not have enough money to have a custom stock built. my red label is just right, right out of the box. i can not hit jack with my browning bps turkey gun {clay pidgeons } i have been shooting my 1100 at quail for so long , it's like an extension of myself. fit has everything to do with it and the rl just fits right

I have a 12 ga. w/ 28" barrels. I'm very fond of it. I did have to add a neoprene comb pad but it comes off. My hunting buddies can't get over the fact that I actually hunt with it because it's just plain pretty! Heck, I bought it specifically for duck hunting, guess what, that's what I do with it.

Glad to hear everyone likes Rugers. I like both my 28 ga. and my 20 ga.. However I have only shot the 28 ga. less than 1000 rounds and it is getting a large number of lite strikes on the primers and not firing. Most of this has been during the cold winter in MI. Also I have only been shooting reloads in this gun and wondered if anyone else has had this problem. I have been reloading for over 30 years and can not find any visible problem with the shotshell. I use the same primers and powder in the 12 and 20 ga. loaders without any problems. Has anyone heard of Rugers having problems with the firing pins?

All info, thoughts and help is greatly appreciated.
