I was at the Ruger All Around Sporting Clays Shoot in RI a few weeks ago and saw/held/ shot the Ruger SXS .... well worth the wait ... trust me. Much nicer than the Browning SxS and is as nice as as any "cheap" Italian SxS. I will buy one the day they come out. I have 3 Ruger O/U's and 7 Browning O/U's a a few European SxS guns so I really do not NEED the Gold Label I WANT a Ruger SxS

Sounds like the same old retail strategy Ruger has used for years. It was at least two years after all the magazine articles and promotion before dealers saw the Ruger Redhawk revolvers. They highly promoted their .308 semi rifle for a couple of years before pulling it. Some books show some were sold, others say it never went into production and evolved into the Mini-14. It is a pretty much industry wide concept to create demand before you start to build a product. Not sure how many Ruger will sell at $2,000 each. Too bad they did not decide to make an American built SS at a meat and potatoes price so the cowboy shooters would swarm to it like they have the Ruger single actions.
