I know it's not a big deal for many, but today I managed to shoot a round of Skeet without missing one. What's left of my hat will go on the wall of my reloading room.

12 gauge. My gun is the 30" barrel sporting clays model. Briley X2 chokes. I shoot 7/8 oz. reloads. (trying to conserve shot)
I can't imagine shooting sub-gauge. It's hard enough with the 12.
One of the guys that I shoot with occasionally runs it with the .410 tubes in his 525.

If you're shooting 7/8 oz loads, you're already shooting the same amount of lead as the 20 ga., and all of 1/8 oz more than the 28 ga. If you can run 'em in 12, you can run 'em in 20 and 28, too. The little .410, well, that's a bit of a different beast. It's a bit more difficult to run 'em with 1/2 oz, but it certainly can be done.

BTW - Congrats on your 1st 25 Straight!

Thanks.

I know that it can be done, I see folks do it. :D I'm just saying, that for me, it seems to be more difficult as the gauge gets smaller. For instance, I've shot a friend's Browning 525 12 gauge, and I can do as well with it as I can my RRL. But, you put the sub-gauge tubes in it, and my score drops dramatically.

Sorry to get in late but just read your post. CONGRATS! I have been shooting casually for many years off and on but never got a 25 straight. I always said if I did, I would stay drunk for a week so i can imagine how you feel. The closest I came was on a sunny day about 5 years ago. I hadn't shot skeet in several years and the most I ever got was a 21 or 22. Usually I was around 18 or 19. My wife and I went to the skeet range and she was pulling. I shot 24 with my 12ga Ruger SC gun. I was stunned. My wife said, "Do you want to shoot another round?" I said, "What, and ruin this story? Get in the car." Haven't done that well since.

Thanks,
and that is a good story. :D

I haven't shot 25 straight since, but I came real close yesterday. My best round of 4 was a 24. I missed high 8. Oh, well.
