I found a RRL 12 gauge for about 800.00 but upon close inspection both the front and buttstocks were loose to the point I could move them side to side by hand about 1/16th inch.

Is this a minor issue easily solved or indicative of more major unseen problems? Thanks.

Look for chips out of the wood where it meets the receiver. Otherwise, pop off the buttplate and tighten the bolt...

I had a little bit of play in one of my RRL forends and solved it buy putting a dab of caulk between the forend iron and the wood. Doesn't show when the iron is reinstalled in the mortise and worked just fine.

What you really need to try is take off the shoulder plate. Make sure you have a long wrench and a flashlight. Get down in there with the wrench and tighten the bolt that is down in there. That tightened mine up just fine.
