My Red Label 12 ga trigger has about 3/8 inches of slop before it engages. Is this the norm for Red Labels? Can it be adjusted by me or does it need to go to a gunsmith.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

No, definity not what the trigger should be like. I have a 12 and 20 RRL both are crisp with no slack. I would take it to a smith or send it to Ruger since the selective safety is a fairly complex thing to work on if you are a novice. Of course you could remove the stock and take a peek.

thank you. I didn't think it felt right, although I could certainly learn to live with it. My other shotguns, Rem and Browning do not have this trigger play. Off to gunsmith.
thanks again.

Don't know if it's considered "slop" but my 12ga SC model has a lot of take-up or free travel. I don't shoot it much anymore but when I do the drill is, load shells, close action, flick off safety, take up slack in trigger, "PULL".
