Are you taking zinc and vitamin D?

Trump's doctors had him doing that in conjunction
with other things. Went through covid19 in about
3 days.

This videos gives some interesting talk mainly
about zinc, and mentions Vitamin D which has
been pretty well recommended by the medical
community concerning COVID-19, in fact,
I saw a doctor yesterday with back problems,
he asked me about supplements as he looked at
my medical record, which says that I take,
multivitamin and mineral. So he said, "Are you taking
Vitamin D?" He also asked me "are you taking
zinc". I told him yes to both, that I do those
specifically in addition to my regular multi
vitamin and mineral supplements. This was
the first time I ever saw this particular doctor.

I had gone to urgent care for back pain. He
was looking at my record and looked at me,
and says, "Your record states that you appear
much younger than your physical age" and
he looks me over, and says "Well, you do, so what
do you do?" I tell him I am active physically,
run and weight train, and eat low carb. It was
about then he brought up zinc and vitamin D.
It seems he thinks it might be important.

Anyway, it seems like it might be good
idea to be taking zinc and vitamin D.

Pretty convincing talking points to be taking
zinc and Vitamin D.

I take a daily multi-vitamin and augment it with an extra D.

Like Dr. Campbell says, the studies he`s referencing are correlative in nature. They do not rule out other factors. The jury is still way out on prophylactic effects of zinc and D. Having said that, the studies are very interesting. Why not a good multivitamin with a little zinc and D augmentation? Damned sure won`t hurt, particularly for us older guys.

I remember the Vitamin C myth. The now infamous Linus Pauling. Nothing has changed.

I suspect, to an important degree, that a convinced mind is an important element of finding success in any health issue.

Supplement Up!

For years I have daily taken Centrum Silver. My doctor tells me that it has everything that i need. It must be good because I am never sick. I pass my Class A aviation medical every year and never miss a scheduled day flying. Since that is my business, I can't afford to keep a plane parked. I take my doctor's advice and it has worked thus far. I am over 70 years old and don't have any health problems.

You have discovered the Fountain of Youth. Me too. Ponce de Leon was way ahead of his time I guess. When I told my cardiologist all the vitamins I was taking, he told me each one was good for 20 years. He predicted I will live forever. Ain’t science great?

Taking vitamins can have near miraculous results if you have some defeciancy in your diet like you never eat fruit or vegetables. If you are getting proper nutrition they will make no noticable difference.

Anyone know why British sailors were called "Limeys"?

The story I heard was, they used limes to keep from getting
scurvy.

I believe the big story on supplements is minerals. The story behind that is that over the last hundred years American farm soil has been depleted of 85% of its minerals, and today's vegetables don't have the mineral content they used to have. Plants produce their own vitamins, but can't produce the minerals.

Also, I believe most conventional wisdom on diet is wrong, won't go into that because a long drawn out conversation would follow where no agreement or acceptance of arguments would be made. Everyone has their own ideas on diet and most of it is wrong, in my opinion. We would all develop carpal tunnel syndrome before agreeing on anything though, so probably better to just say "to each his own".

I believe you’re wrong about ‘American farm soil’. Ah science has never been better, unless you’ve farmed, you’re likely wY behind what’s really happening.
