I had a silver snipe once and loved it, troutbum. It shouldered so well and fit me like a glove! The only problem was that the previous owner had a gunsmith shorten the cocking arm a bit because he didn't think the gun broke open far enough. By doing so, the cocking arm would not always engage the firing pins, so sometimes the gun shot, and other times it didn't. I had no idea about this alteration when I bought the gun for $450. Very frustrating!!! I even had a gunsmith solder a small extension to the cocking arm in hopes that that would solve the problem, but it didn't work. The Snipe could not be fixed. Sad story :(

The last part of the season I used a Browning Auto 5 Light 12 circa 1959. Love that gun. I'm going to keep it. I buy and sell shotguns as a hobby, but this one I'm keeping!

Cyrider. I hear you. I inherited mine from my father, he bought the gun new in 1961 for I think about $150.00. He used it , but the guns in great shape. Your right about the handling , she is great. Seem like were you look and aim them they hit.

I have used several guns this year but my favorite has been an E.J. Churchill, SxS, 20 gauge with 28 inch barrels, game rib, made about 1921.
