What gun do you carry when you have a long hunt ahead of you?

I usually tote a Franchi AL-48 for those long walks. It is very light and at the end of the day, it surely feels good not to have your arm out of socket.

For stand or blind hunting, I use either a Remington 11-87.

Just interested in what you guys use for those long walks when a gun can get mighty heavy.

My in between gun for either blind or uplands, I use a Stoeger 2000. It is light enough for uplands.

One of my favorite guns is a little Nova 20 gauge with a 24" barrel. It has a sling on it and sure is handy.

Over the past 40 years, I have been fortunate to have picked up a few guns at very little cost by shopping around and haggling with pawnbrokers.

I really can't say that I have a real favorite. I do know that a heavy gun will wear you down on a long hunt.
