I can say some of the best people are skeet shooters. I have met and shot with so many good people over the last 14 years. I will say for sure my best friends are skeet shooters. It is so hard to loose one that I shot with for years.

Hank Echols is one of the most admiral men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Hank is a special man and I am glad that I can call him my friend. Hank is a life member of the NSSA. Hank did 4 tours in Vietnam where he was exposed to agent orange. Hank has been fighting cancer for over a year and the fight is almost over. They have called in hospice and he has been asleep for 4 days. I will miss him more than he will ever know. I wish I could be as good of man as he was.

Don't ever take your friends for granted, because you will wake up one day and they will be gone. Hank I love you and will never forget you.

Allen McCannon

Amen. My shooting partner is in a serious fight as we speak. I still ask for prayers for Donnie (eyemissum). He has really had it rough recently.

Allen, I feel for you. I do hope your friend feels no pain. At times like this one has to just try and remember the good times.

Sorry to hear about your friend Hank, Allen. Hope you have an opportunity to go over there, hold his hand, and say a last good-bye. He may not respond, but he will know you are there.

WAM....we are just at that age now. At this point in our lives we can lose someone dear on any given day. I got a note the other day, one of my friend's Mother had passed into the The Next Phase. The Next Phase (you had to know this lady to catch the whole drift of that phrase! A deluxe character.)...I liked the way that sounded. I don't like to think of them as gone or done.

They never will be gone as long as we hold them in our hearts. What better way to honor a friend who has passed into The Next Phase! Don't mourn his passing, CELEBRATE HIS LIFE!

Allen, what I took from your message was a call to arms. I'm gonna make it a point to hug and tell all my friends what I think about them...while I have the chance.

Allen, I know your pain. The best ones are the hardest to let go. Jesse was like that and there is not a day that goes by ....

Thanks everyone for your prayers, Hank pasted on Friday and did not suffer long. So the prayers must have worked. Again Thanks and remember don't take your friends and loved one's for granted.

I am sorry to hear that but at the same time happy he did not suffer long. Just remember the good times. When we're gone that's all we really leave behind. The impression we made on people.

What a great post! I shoot skeet 2 days per week and I don't know if I do it for the game, or to be with my friends at the range. I love shooting skeet, but I love those old guys just as much. Maybe more! Thanks Allen, for helping me put things back in perspective.
