There is another shotgun website which has been down for over a week. I don't know if they plan to get back into operation or not. Although that site had lots of flaming and idiotic anonymous posters, at least that was a place where you could see the results of sporting clays tournaments posted within a day or two without having to wait 3 weeks for the NSCA site to post the results.

My question, or suggestion, is that we start posting the results of tournaments on the Shotgunworld website. Would it be better to post them in this "Trap/Skeet/Sporting Clays" forum or should we have a separate forum for tournament results? Then, of course, the next question is how do we get the clubs to post their results here? Any ideas or suggestions?

I am very much in favor of that. In fact, a couple of times before I have copied results off the club's web site and posted them here.

I don't like splitting this site up into too many subforums, but it may be necessary in this case, if we are successful in getting a lot of clubs to use it. Maybe we can go with the Trap/Skeet/Sporting forum we have until we start getting so many results that a new forum is needed.

If "the other site" is still off-line the next time my home course has a fun shoot, I can probably talk Carolyn into posting here or e-mailing the results to me so I can post them.

We should start e-mailing every course where we shoot and suggesting that they post here. The best time to do it would be right after a shoot that we attended. We could repeat that every time we see results posted at "the other site" but not here. I think it is important to quote the figures on how many members this site has: it is an impressive number. Don't forget to mention that there are also a lot of unregistered guests who visit regularly.

When this thing starts moving, we need to inform as many shooters as possible that the results are available here. If the clubs get in the habit of posting here, the shooters will look for results here - and if enough shooters look here, the clubs will post here.

Well, I just checked on the "other site" a few minutes ago and it's back up. It looks the same as it always did. I don't know the official explanation, but I think it was server problems.

As for getting the sporting clays ranges to post their tournament results here, it may be worth a try, but if the "other site" is back up, they may be reluctant to post the results twice. Heck, it's hard to get them to post them ONCE.
