Looking for a shooting coat to wear during winter months for skeet and sporting clays. Need something warm for Michigans sub zero weather and wind chills. Yes we really do shoot in this weather - about 4 -5 months out of the year. Was looking at Cabeleas Trulock coat (Thinsulate) or Browning Gore Tex coat . Want to keep bulk to a minimum. Looks like price points are $120-$150 on these two. Experience with either or other tested options appreciated.

I have the Cabelas Trulock, got it for Christmas. Its very nice and I'd reccomend it. I wear it to work also. You'll need a few more layers on really cold days, but there is little bulk and its waterproof also. I use mine for pheasant late season and thru the winter for tower shoots and planted birds as it has a game bag also. Good Luck!

Under Armor type shirt combined with a windstopper fleece jacket is very thin and very warm. I'm comfortable to 10 degrees or so with mine. Both of these items combined will set you back about $100.

both Beretta and Bob Allen make nice insulated shooting jackets. I just picked up a Bob Allen from Gamaliel's on sale for $85.

I use a Browning repel-tex jacket tan and loden. I love it but I don't have to brave the weather you shoot in in the winter down in Missouri.
