I don't think they've decided which club in France yet. It's not posted that I can find.

They think they have the location decided but not set in stone yet. At a different level but the World FITASC is running into similar issues to our domestic Regional Championships. There are fewer and fewer countries with adequate grounds to host the event to modern standards.

I had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Palinkas on the 8th during the Worlds in Budapest. He said that he has not yet signed the contracts for the venue in France pending completed negotiations. I doubt that his comments means that the site will not be in France, but the venue is not completely nailed down.

It was pencilled in for St Lambert where the Europeans were held in 2016, but as Craig says not finalised yet. Probably will be confirmed when they meet at World Compak in August.

To be held in UK 2019, venue to be decided

In that case, we better start working on our gun permits now. ;-)

And I believe semi-auto's are not welcome without mod.

In the UK to be classed as a shotgun, semi autos have their magazines restricted to two cartridges so with one cartridge in the chamber, three shot total and would need a visitors shotgun permit. Unrestricted semis are classed as firearms. Whether it would be possible to bring one in a visitors firearm permit would need a discussion with the CPSA.

While the actual contract has not be signed, the best hotel at a local golf couse has already been reserved for..... since at least June when we tried to reserve. For all that went through the hiccups entering Hungary this year, there are NO checks for shotguns in France. You arrive in CDG Paris and pick up your shotgun on the baggage carousel. You go to your car rental and off you go! So much better than the US or Canada and many others!

Leigh, slight clarification: the magazine modification needs to be permanent (typically a peripheral crimp on the outside of the tube), not something easily removable like the rod plug used in the United States and Canada to comply with the three cartridge restriction when shooting migratory birds in North America.

At least that's what I got from the Birmingham Proof House documents that I've seen.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sobrepuesta

Yes it has to be a permanent restriction. When the rule came in around 1990 all semis had to be sent off and have their magazines crimped and certified to be held as a shotgun.

Thats a good reminder for me, I have my Fathers old Remy 1100 which he no longer uses, so need to get the proof house certificate from him.

Regards

Leigh

So where is the best area to stay? That's champagne region, right? And relatively close to CDG?

Is St Lambert the name of a town or a club? If it's a club where is it located?
