Hey guys,

That might help to book a hotel room.
Here is the city of the shooting ground: Fourdrain (zip: 02870).
Most of the hotels and restaurants are located in Laon (zip: 02000).
It's something like 15 minutes (9 miles) drive from the shooting ground.

I'll see you guys there next year.

FYI, it will be a 100% Laporte sponsored shoot! You'll be shooting on our newest generation 1,000-target traps.

Does anyone know what the " (02) " behind the St. Lambert listing means? https://www.fitasc.com/uk/home/view/set ... ryear/2018

When I use the "St. Lambert 02" in Google Maps, it take me to a town that is two hours to the N.E. of Paris. There is another one closer, which is S.W. of Paris, but that appears to be a park.

It's north up by Laon. Champagne region I think.

Thank you, Nikobe. I've looked at Laon and Fourdrain. Area looks very interesting.

Can anyone provide a web site for St. Lambert or, at least, some details from previous experiences? Henry? Leigh? Nikobe?

Thank you,

Here is the shooting ground's website:

And here are a couple of videos of Saint Lambert shooting ground:

And the last and hopefully not the least: the video I made during the 2016 European FITASC Championship.

Thanks for the videos! What type of mining was previously done?

Here's my problem. I want to go, but if I did I'd also want to extend my trip and spend some time in Belgium (want to see Brussels and Bruges) and then even get up to Amsterdam.

So WTF do I do with my gun??? Or is it possible to rent a gun for the big shoot?

I am pretty sure the club would hang onto your gun for you but of course you'd have to plan on doubling back to collect it. Gun vaults are very common at shooting clubs in Europe. While I have done this both in Spain and Portugal, those clubs were tiro a vuelo/tiro o vôo clubs. Not sure how FITASC clubs would deal with this... Send an email to the club or find someone who knows someone (at the club) to get things sorted out ahead of time.

I am eye balling 2019 in the UK... Might even have to shoot a round or two of FITASC before I get there...

Don't worry about the shotgun. Just keep it in your trunk. Make sure that you don't get a station wagon. Most times the car rental companies remove the cover leaving everything in view back there. Hotels in the area are getting booked fast. BTW, just before the club on 1044, there is a very good restaurant that has fresh oysters of the day!

It is only 45 Km to Reims, if you prefer the big city and champagne.

Jack, I am glad you mentioned this. My wife and I were planning to go to Europe next summer and I thought it would be great to make this event part of our trip. I too would put this at the front end of our visit and was wondering if I could hand over my gun to Krieghoff for servicing there (it will be time by then to get it done) and have them ship it home, or, at least to Robert Paxton. Does anyone know if that is a possibility?

Hell, I get paranoid enough driving through certain states here at home with a gun let alone driving through multiple countries in Europe!

Mike, sounds like we are both Krieghoff shooters -- maybe we can get Krieghoff to loan us a gun for the shoot?

Sounds like stellar legal advice.....

For anyone who might be tempted to heed this advice, in most (pretty much every) European country one can only transport a firearm directly between one's domicile and the authorized shooting location (shooting range if you have a target shooting permit) and back.

Driving around from random place to random place with a gun in your car, particularly after the shooting event that you were permitted to enter the country for is over, is just asking for a shitstorm of trouble and I doubt Mr hnachaj would be an effective defense attorney for you.

While that would be ideal for me since I shoot a Parcours that is 95% stock.......I really doubt Krieghoff would want to set that precedent of loaning guns to travelers.

I've had the same idea and concerns. Since the club is only about an hour from The airport, wonder if we could arrive early and drop the gun at the club? Get the traveling out of the way before the event?

Unless the federal laws have gotten less strict since I had my FFL, then no -- internationally it has to move between the owner and a repair facility, or through a licensed firearms importer, not just an FFL.

The idea of storing it ahead of time at the club would be feasible if it's firstly an option and secondly secure storage.
