The distinct pleasure of introducing people into the clays games especially the kids...after all they are the future of the sport!

Volunteering and doing what it takes to keep a club going until the owner said I could reset any target without asking.

Getting others started in this game over the past 25 years.
Some have reminded me that I was responsible for their affliction/addiction.
Couldn’t ask for a better way to contribute to the game and see people enjoy themselves.

earning Fitasc punches at North Brook, it gave me a sense of belonging and brother hood. Also punching into AA this year, and somehow last year I managed to have shot 4,925 targets.

Meeting the people, and learning from the masters that have taken me under their wing and have taught me the game.

Winning 410 AA and Super Vet 410 at the National Sporting Championship 2017 at age of 72 on my bucket list, but no one was more surprised than me.

Being involved in shooting Sporting Clays for what it was intended to be before it became what it is today....

It was fun back then and affordable... and there were a bunch of just regular hunters using the same guns they hunted with having a blast shooting targets ethical hunters would also shoot in hunting situations.

Terry,

The cheapest gas that I remember was my sophomore year in high school. 12.9 a gal. I was working at a Full Service gas station and remember when the owner came by to change the gas price. That was really cheap but our cars and pickups didn't get very good gas mileage in those days. I have never put a pencil to it but I would bet when figuring the miles per gallon of todays cars and our price ($2.28 this evening) gas isn't as bad as we think. Why don't one of you math guys figure this out for me?

Mike McAlpine

Back in 1970 my 1968 GTO got about 6 miles per gallon. Today my Tahoe gets about 23 MPG. One of todays little cars can get 40 MPG.

Should of worked harder on those story problems when I was a kid.

Mike,

Not a 'math guy', good thing this is a pretty easy calculation.

At $2.289 gas is costing you slightly under 10 cents a mile for your Tahoe.

At $.129 your GTO was costing slightly over 2 cents a mile.

Nate
