The commentating by Dianne Sorrentino and the gentleman was very professional also.

I agree, you could see the targets, and the commentating was really good as well. If this format was used more for production, we might finally have something watchable.

Congrats to Derrick Mein, that was lights out.

Big +1 from me. That was really cool to watch.

I wonder how Derrick would fare in the USA Shooting skeet selection trials for the upcoming World Cups and Tokyo......

For those (like me) who didn't see the live stream, here is the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ud3I93adS3k

Note that the first 20 minutes is mostly talk (background, recaps, introductions), so if you want to go right to the shooting, the Super Veteran shootoff starts at around 20:00, and the Top Five shootoff starts at around 37:00. As others have said, it's really good stuff.

Good video! I watched it all. Thanks. {hs#

And, as relates to another current discussion on this board, did anyone (other than me) notice at the start of the shootoff where Anthony had to go back and get some different chokes for the shootoff? When the announcer asked what he was putting into the gun, Anthony replied "20 and 20" ... meaning Mod and Mod. About the same time, they showed Cory Kruse screwing some chokes into his gun although the announcer didn't mention it.

So, even some of the Big Boys change chokes when the occasion calls for it. ^77 ^77

Ryan Holmes was the other announcer. He's comes from California and has worked with the PSCA in the past. He helped competitors better portray themselves and develop content for the shows. He's a great guy and did wonderful job explaining was was happening. It's nice having two announcers/competitors have banter rather than a single person trying to come up with everything. Over all it was very enjoyable to watch.

Congratulations to Derrick and everyone who finished well.

best,

Jonathan Henrici

I noticed that too. Mr Holmes is obviously a pro at what he does and it was apparent that Diane and him worked off each other to deliver really good commentary.

I thought Diane was great considering she has not done this before. She is a competitor so she understands the shooting, very well done. Congrats.

Well done! Congratulations to all involved and a special thanks to Mr. Martin, Mr.Miles and the sponsors who made this possible. Christopher Claxton is THE premiere videographer for clay shooting events. I was present for the final which was very entertaining. For an average shooter those targets were difficult in the extreme. These gifted athletes were able to break them with relative ease, a testament to their exceptional skill.

sierra42,
Even the top guys had an issue with that #3 left to right. It was difficult to gauge the distance but it looked "out there" but from what I could tell, had a slight quartering out vs a crossing aspect which is very easy to give more than is needed. Abel Spire had it figured out as well as Cory Kruse. Derrick Mein missed it his first go and then figured it out.

By the way, it is much easier to read from the couch vs actually being there. Ha ha.

Fun topic,
Dave
