I had to read three quarters of the article before I realized what he was saying. I did not know that the only definition of the word master was related to slavery. Guess I am out of touch.

But it might be better if they changed it to "he's way better than you" class. or the way the Brits spell that -- AAA.

I recognize that this thread was begun in jest. But, given frequent serious and often contentious discussions of the need to "fix" Master class, I must confess confusion. What is wrong with Master that isn't "wrong" with all of the other classes as well? Punch classes are notoriously inaccurate; Master is no different.

It's early, and I have not finished my second cup of coffee - just musing.

While they're changing the name "Master Class" they ought to change this one, too. "Legacy" which is a concurrent class for shooters 80 and over, but in school fraternities is a pledge who only got accepted because his father had been a fraternity member.

I think they were going for Legend and miss-spelled it.

You could rename all the classes
Master=Exellent
AA=Very good
A=Pretty good
B=Fair
C=Decent
D=Mediocre
E=Lousy

So what class are you in?

It will never work. The "Excellent Class" will get too big and most of them won't be able to compete with the best "Excellantes."

Perhaps just three classes? Call them Small, Medium, and Large - like underwear (only not as useful).

I'm shocked this hasn't been flooded with ideas about averages, and how it works in Europe, and then last but not least a picture somewhere at some point of Brad's ex wife..........and her "terrible" accident.

The classification system is a joke. You can't have people who are shooting E class scores and haven't gotten a punch in years in upper classes. It isn't just about M class. It's all about ego's and a business plan to give people incentive to shoot.

Yup, pretty much sums it up.

And If you think about it a heck of a business plan-get folks to spend untold thousands of dollars to win something(punch) that costs the Association NOTHING!!

NSCA could not care less about classification accuracy; they care a great deal about target tax revenue. In that context, the current system works splendidly.

We all know how things are, and we know they aren't going to change; so, best not to worry about it. Just enjoy the game and time in the sun.

First of all can I say "please let us get rid of all this racist and hatred in the World " Lewis Hamilton has jumped on the band wagon and is now calling Bernie Ecclestone a racist and ignorant , Bernie is the guy who opened doors for Lewis years ago . Lewis needs to remember that his paymaster , sponsor and car provider Mercedes was responsible for funding Adolf Hitler and the persecution of Jews . Back on course now after my rant , yes scrap 'Master' class because many in it couldn't hit a cows a$$ with a banjo and rename AAA just like your Sporting clays 'Masters' from the UK do .

I'm in the 80 and older class. I would reject Legacy (or Legend) and call that class fossil. That is: just a cast of my former self. Still havin fun.
