I'm using the RE Ranger Phantoms. I lover the HD Medium for sunny days, but I was curious what most folks use on cloudy days. I realize that lens color is a personal thing, but I'm curious what y'all's preference is.

When I wore contacts and used regular lenses, the Ranger light purple worked well for me. Now, with a scrip lens, I only have one color, the darker purple; it does ~OK, but could be better on really overcast days when the target is against a dark background like trees

I've got the yellow, but I don't really like it all that well. I'll give it a try again this weekend, as we are supposed to have some cloudy weather post hurricane/tropical storm.

HD Light works fairly well for me on cloudy days but yellow sure enough works for me eyes.
I know the choices are a tad limited with the Phantom's I have/use the Edge's

The OP doesn't have Pillas, he has Ranger Phantoms.......in which you could buy about 10 pairs of Ranger Phantom's to one set of Pillas. For cloudy days the rose works great. I'm a big fan of that lens for cloudy days. Also OP do you have the original phantoms or the 2.0's? because spare lenses for the originals are all but gone anywhere and everywhere.

A yellow or light orange work well for a cloudy day. I'm using a yellow or sometimes just my clear prescription glasses. For sunny days I use a dark brown Polaroid lens. It really cuts the glare.

I was just getting ready to ask about this myself. I shot two days in a row, yesterday under a clear blue sky and today under a solid white, but very bright, overcast. Today only, I had a lot of trouble with a 90° crosser at about 30 yards maybe 30 feet high. Problem was the clay was moving past three separated trees moving through first the green background and then across the bright white background two times. The problem was my eyes were drawn away from the target and onto the white background by the intermittent brightness. I lost the target and couldn’t reacquire it before it happened again. I hit a few of them by pure luck, but I felt totally lost. My lenses were medium vermillion (48% transmission) that I use most times. I have yellow lenses and also a fairly dark orangy rust. I’m wondering if one of those would have worked better.

If it's a really dark, cloudy day, I used the lightest yellow that I have. If it's a bright cloudy day, I use a medium orange. While I have high contrast brown for bright sunny days, I find myself using the medium orange most of the time.

On most cloudy days i use the Ranger pail yellow that looks almost clear but has a light tint of yellow to knock the glare off if the sun should come out.

Cloudy I used to like yellow. But now my fav for cloudy-bright is a thin pink; and for cloudy-dark I use almost clear with just a touch of yellow-green -- work well under lights too.

So, it was mostly cloudy and I tried the yellow briefly. Still don't like it. I used the HD medium and felt like I saw everything pretty well. I did get the punch I needed too. Off to B class!
