SC requires a shooter to learn how to shoot. the lead in feet at the target or inches at the muzzle is not that hard. The pattern is many times wider than the clay target.
What the SC shooter has to learn is the speed , distance and angle of the target. Is it quartering or crossing? Is it 40 yds out or 28 yds out ? Is it crossing at 60 mph or 25 mph ?
This takes doing and can't be found in a book. Certainly a coach might help. BUT your son will not learn it as fast as skeet or trap. Once he takes a lesson , he needs to shoot 2000-4000 shells to keep the lesson locked in his brain.
otherwise forget about it.
