Feeling like a very old fart these days. Tired of toting a 12 gauge around the course. Picked up a new Browning Citori CXS 20 gauge/32" a few years ago. Only weighs a little over 7 pounds. I break as many targets with it as any of my 12 gauge guns. Very easy to swing.

I've only just started to get into the 20gauge, the little guns have a bit going for them.

What load weight are you shooting to reduce recoil in that light gun? You say you are breaking as many with the 20 as the 12. If you are shooting only 7/8 oz to keep recoil under control in the light gun, you are reducing probability of hits. It may be significant. It may not. Depends on how perfectly you are able to center every shot. That is the trade off. Hey, whatever works for you. But it is not for me. I need every pellet I can get without risking heavy felt recoil. 12 ga is the sweet spot.

If you reload you really need to try the 3/4 oz reloads. I find that they pattern better in my 20 gauge guns than 7/8 oz. And with that said I have actually started shooting SC with my 28 gauge guns with only a few shots being tricky but a lot more fun...
