Good afternoon everyone. We have decided to start up a circuit style competition using the already set competitions in the state of Virginia. 2021 Virginia Iron Man Sporting clay competition
14 100 bird events (1 club (2-100 bird events) per month starting in April)

This Competition’s purpose is to incentivize more shooters to travel to the VA sporting clay ranges without the ranges having to lower their profit margins by offering big payouts like the bigger shoots on the east coast.

The entry cost will be $200.

This competition will utilize already scheduled NSCA events by the VA ranges. Six events will be chosen as soon as the shoot dates are set for 2021.

You must be a registered NSCA member to compete.

You must sign up and pay prior to the beginning of the third shoot date (Virginia State Shoot).

All monies will be paid out within a week of the final shoot or after the shoot-off for ties.

This competition will be scored in a lewis class manor (the top three spots will be paid in each class. How many classes will be dependent on the total number of competitors.)

The competition will be scored out of 1000 targets. If a shooter shoots all 1400 targets, then the lowest four 100 bird events will be dropped from the scores, unless the competitor misses the state shoot. In this case the shooters bottom three scores, and the shooters top score will be dropped.

The scores will be collected from the club's respective website (winscore, etc.)

If there are any ties a shoot-off will be set up no later than 30 days from the last shoot.

In order for clubs to be a picked for the competition they must throw two 100 bird (sporting or super sporting, no other events will count) events in a weekend, preferably on the same day.

A Facebook page and a post on shotgun world will be setup to give monthly updates to all the competitors. An email will be sent out monthly to all participants.

A HOA award of 30% of the total pot will be awarded. The remaining 70% will be split up between the classes at a 50/30/20 payout per class.

Integrity is key to sportsmanship. Any allegations of cheating must be made to the range staff the day of the shoot. All allegations of cheating will be investigated by the range staff. Any substantiated claims will result in immediate forfeiture of the competitor’s entry fee and the competitor will be banned from the competition.

June 26-27: Brushy Mountain, Virginia State Shoot Main Event (each day will be considered its own event for this competition-) (unknown registration site at this time)

July 24-25: Shenandale Commonwealth/Bison Cup (unknown registration site at this time)

Aug 15th: Quail Ridge (Score Chaser)

Sept 19th: Summit Springs (unknown registration site at this time)

Oct 16th: Quail Ridge (Score Chaser)

Thank you for organizing this series. IMO--you are on the right track for promoting sporting clays in Virginia. Unfortunately, I will be unable to participate in the foreseeable future because of family health issues. I wish you well and thanks again.

Thank you. As stated in the rules we are trying to get more shooters to travel to Virginia clubs. We have spent the last two years asking shooters why they aren’t traveling and the biggest answer is “why drive (x) hours just to chase punches. By doing this competition it incentivizes shooters to travel without putting the constraint of having to offer bigger payouts. This is the idea we came up with to try to keep the clubs of Virginia open

Why would you need to be an NSCA member if it's Lewis Class with no NSCA awards in NSCA classes? We travel over 3 hours each way to Old Forge in VA. Because the price is right and the targets are good. Plus they have trappers that know what they are doing. Many of whom are actual shooters who aren't shooting that day.
