They are the same size at the W209's. I miked them, but I can't remember the size right off the top of my head. Sorry.

Thanks Eye. I might have to order some and try them for that price. I was reading on the Wolf Ammo site that if you are not satisified with any of their products, they will give you a full refund, including return freight. Kind of a win-win.

I bought 5k wolf 209 primers at the tulsa gun show.Powder valley had them for $95.00 for 5k.So far the ones I have loaded have worked great. The guy from powder valley said they was the old PMC's.And load them the same as W209.As of right know if I need more I would buy more of the wolf primers.

You never know? Gov't is supposed to keep that stuff secret like their little playground they have out in the Nevada desert.

I'm not sure but i think a nuclear fuse would stretch the primer hole way to big to go back to the 209 primer, not sure how it would effect the function of the gun either.

we are talking about primers still right?

To any of you that have loaded with the Wolf primer, do you think this would be an OK recipe. Win AA hull, 16.9 gr. of Clays, 7/8 oz. shot and Green Duster wad?

I am very interested, I have not seen these primers for sale in Michigan. Where would I find loading data for these primers or are they a direct identical replacement for another brand of primer?

Most of us lack pressure testing equipment. This is a mild load. I've burned up about 8 kegs of Clays using 16.4 gr, 7/8, comp formed hulls, and gray wads. Velocity is sub-1200 fps. I haven't seen anything to suggest that Green Dusters would raise pressures. I also used the above with 209As in cold weather with no problems. The Wolf, if similar to the Win 209 and/or PMC, will not be as hot as the 209A.

So can you substitute these in a recipe/load that calls for a Winchester W209 primer?

Many years of practice, massive amounts of experience.

With the gov't having so many years of experience screwing things up...When can we call the gov't professional screw up artists??? Seems like the gov't really knows what they're doing when is come to screwing stuff up. Practicing just sounds like an understatement.

Let's let them handle health care next.

OK I just found these Wolf 209 primers at a store in Michigan for less than $20 but I am hesitant to buy them because of a lack of data using them. I checked hodgdon, alliant, and the Wolf website and turned up nothing in the way of data for these primers that I would like to use if possible.

I called Alliant powder company, they told me you could interchange wolf 209 primer with winchester w209 primers.I bought my wolf primers from powder valley at the tulsa gun show.I asked them about interchanging them for winchester primers. And they said yes that you could because they was like the old PMC'S. I am just passing on what I have been told.

Well folks this is it from the Horses mouth concerning data on Wolf 209 primers:

Unfortunately we currently do not have any reloading data on our components.
Please check back with us later this year to see if anything has been
created by then.

Sincerely,

WOLF Ammunition

This is an enquiry e-mail via http://199.238.132.208 from:
Tim Salowitz <Sargeyork>

Your 209 Primers have appeared in my local store at a very attractive price,
I would like to use these primers but there is no reloading data that I can
find where they are specified as a component, where can I find some
information or reloading data for appropriate loads using these as
components?
