Hello All.

I'm new to the forum and just thought I'd drop in and say a warm hello to all of you. I am in the D/FW area of Texas and am an avid shooter. I have several guns, and am a CHL instructor. I've never really been into shotgun sports (mostly because of no opportunites, but I've decided to change that b/c I am now a member of a private club that has Skeet, Trap, Sporting Clays, and 5-Stand). I didn't feel that I had a shotgun that would really do well, so I decided to buy a gun to see how much I like it. After reading several reviews, I settled on the $399 Yildiz O/U 20 Gauge from Academy. I haven't fired it yet, but I'm definitely excited to. I'll post some pics tonight.

In addition to the Yildiz, I have a Stevens (I think) bolt action 12-gauge, Ithica SKB Model 100 SxS 12 Gauge in Mint condition, Mossberg 500 20-gauge, Stoeger P-350 Home Defense Model. I'm really looking forward to breaking in the new Yildiz and learning from you guys.

Welcome and have fun clayshooting! But beware....It can get addictive! And take good care of that SKB 100. Also a VERY nice gun.

Welcome! Let us know how you enjoy it. I might be looking to have Academy send a 20 gauge up north for a friend....

My family and I joined the Arlington Sportsman's Club. In fact, we had our orientation last weekend. I'm really looking forward to getting more shooting done out there. I used to shoot a lot but the public ranges have become so crowded over the last few years that I've kind of cut back, so I'm really looking forward to enjoying my new membership.

I definitely will. I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys / gals, and hopefully learn from y'all. I mean to take pictures last night, but I got busy last night and didn't get it done. I should definitely have time tonight to get some nice ones!

You will enjoy the club llaslo, it's much better than a public range 8) I have never shot there, but a couple of the guy's I shoot with have. I shoot in Grand Prarire which is near there.

Take care and looking forward to sharing with you :D

Welcome! I like your new gun -i am a Y gun fan still trying to scrape the dollars together to get one.

How much are memberships to gun clubs normally? I live in Austin Tx and the only place i can think to shoot is in Manor at Capital city clays....

OH and where are those pics you promised??

Sorry guys, it's been a crazy week! I'll definitely try and get the pics posted this weekend. The gun club I joined was fairly reasonable. The ones I've found are all over the board, some require that you buy a share of stock, others charge a yearly fee and an initiation fee. It just depends, the one I joined is close by, full of great people (many of whom I know from church) and fit my budget.

Actually, I mistyped that. I verified this evening. My SKB is a Model 200-E. I really don't know much about it, except to say that it was my grandfather's and that it's in mint condition.

more questions!
Have you shot that .20 yet? i have decided to go O\U but not sure what gauge i want yet. I am 6 ft exactly 190 lbs
The .12 sure does feel right but perhaps my girl would want to go and then she may prefer a .20.
I guess the question is how selfish is the Dogwonthunt?!
:)

One of each :D :D I have a 12 for my son, my wife and I shoot the 20. I sure don't feel under gunned with the 20.
