Last Sunday, at my club's trap shoot, one of the shooters offered a turkish shotgun for sale. It was a beautiful little gun and seemed to be well made and fitted.

He wanted $800 for it.

It was called tugru, ir something like that. Actually, I am sure that Tugru is not correct, but it was a short name like that with a gru in it.

Interestingly, it was marked 36 ga. on the side.

Unless my calculator is malfuntioning, a .410 works out to be approximately 67 ga.

Do any of you fellers have any knowledge about this gun and the 36 ga. designation?

Huglu was probably the name of the gun and 36 gauge is an old designation for the .410 bore. It's not accurate, just what someone decided to call it.

OK, Huglu was probablt it all right.

Quality gun?

It looked like a nice gun, but I figured 800 for something out of the Mid East was a little steep.

Perhaps I am just predjudiced?
