i was honored to help out at the first gamaliel cup, held at the tennessee clay target complex this weekend.
wendell cherry won all the marbles, with an amazing nine bird lead over the second place shooter, and a ten bird lead over a famous british shooter!
i heard furious whining and moaning about "impossible" targets, but apparently, wendell could hit them. he shot 93 the first day and an astounding 97 the last day to easily win the gold. the fitasc winner was a young shooter that won with a 75, just in case you think we threw fluff targets!
this is just the beginning of our season at the TCTC, and we expect many, many shooters at our club this summer.
BTW, we shot three days worth of tagets in two days. jeff had to make a midnight run to bring half a truckload of birds for sunday. our newly promoted and efficient manager, larry summarell, easily headed up this large, important shoot. thanks, larry!
