Here's your chance to please your ladies, ya'll!

In conjunction with our NSCA event, the Cactus Open, the JL Bar Ranch & Resort in Sonora, TX, is hosting the Texas Wine and Art weekend on May 18,19, & 20. You can come out and experience a sporting clays tournament, following that up with wine tastings of various Texas wineries, culinary creations by our executive chef, paintings by local artists, and live music! There will also be 4 course evening meals with wine pairings and chocolate tastings to top it off. There is a fine selection of cigars available to finish off your day as well.

The Cactus Open will feature two 100 target courses and an 8 station, 50 bird .410 course. As a side event, we will be offering a 20 target wobble game. Lunch will be provided for all shooters. The costs of the shooting is $65, + tax for each 100 target course, and $35, + tax for the .410. We encourage you to pre-register for the shoot at www.scoringpro.com.

For more information, and/or reservations, about the weekend event(s), please call 855-414-3337. JL Bar Ranch & Resort is located on the western edge of the Texas Hill country, and hour south of San Angelo, TX, and 2 hours west of San Antonio.

My ex wife's favorite wine was, "I wanna go to Miami Beach" ;)

I was given a tour of the JL Bar Ranch facilities this past Thursday and was really impressed. It looks like a totally first class operation. It’s about one mile off IH 10 between Junction and Sonora, so it’s pretty remote, but still reasonable for shooters in central or west Texas. Paul Hawkins, the shooting manager, seemed very knowledgeable. I’m looking forward to shooting there some day.

The courses are set. Nothing over the top, just a lot of variations. It's going to be a fun weekend. And of course, there will be all that wine to soothe any wounds to the ego, lol.

Ya'll come on!
