I own a set of X7 Outlaw glasses with the Rx insert. I bought them in 2013 before I needed distance correction and they worked great. When I started using a mild Rx (+1.50), I now get some distortion from the double layer of insert and colored lenses. The curved shape of the Outlaw seems to make it worse. I went back to the Decot HyWyd and dont have this problem.
Any thoughts?

The lens behind a lens setup isn’t perfect. I have some small trouble with mine (not Pilla) too. I just ignore it.

I will say this. Have you considered wearing disposable contacts for the distance and just have the close correction (if that is what you had been wearing) in the Rx insert? Cheap solution.

I too chose the contacts and plano Pilla lenses. In certain dusty and windy conditions, if I have contact issues, I have a couple of pairs of Dekot HyWyd Rx lenses (distance only) as back up and they work well. I carry readers for close up if needed...... (getting old is not for sissies). I would love to go see Dr. Colo and get a full assessment but this is working for now.

flat lens against a curved lens = no bueno.

Go to contacts and regular plane lens and you'll be much happier.

Update,
I took the glasses to my eyeglass vendor. Inserts were ground properly but the nose bridge was so tight that the glasses were too high on my face. I was looking through the bottom of the inserts. Corrected the fit and all is well.
