I shot my first charity SC event recently...heck, my first event period. Besides the great guns everyone was using, lots of folks were riding around in all kinds of UTVs, golf (gun) carts and even three-wheeled push carts. What an awesome sight seeing the different ways shooters were using to get guns and gear around the course.

What does everyone here use to get around?

Turned an old jogging stroller into a 3 wheel gun cart. Though I have thought about getting a golf cart for some of these larger courses on NSCA events.

Went from feet to push cart to golf cart. The latter being almost mandatory for multiple games at large events.

If I had to walk with my bad back my shooting days would be over.

I bought this when I had money.

If I could find more friends I would have one of these.

I get plenty of walking and exercise in every day at work so when I go shoot use a cart I go shoot for my pleasure and being a pack Mule isn't for me

I have both. A nice day, relatively short course....I use the push cart for the exercise. Drive cart goes to the big shoots, bad wx, etc. The option is nice.

I walk on short courses, push cart on medium distance. I would like to have a golf cart someday for big shoots.

I used to use a push cart when I shot with friends who also did the same. Age has taken a toll and now everyone either owns or rents some form of a buggy from a golf cart to an enclosed UTV with heat and AC

90% of the time I use my rugged gear push cart. For large events and some multi day I rent a golf cart or haul my own which is a simple unlifted EZGO gas with a front basket and a rear seat. I replaced the golf cart tires with lawn mower tires.

I've had alot of really close calls, one in particular really upset me, I just about got slammed into, and the guy then stopped backed up and yelled at me "why are you walking it's dangerous" me thinking the only thing dangerous is you, and not everyone has money for a UTV. Oddly enough I've never seen the guy since but seriously, slow down be respectful, and always remember everyone has a right to the walking trail/cart path.

The speeding around the courses and parking areas is very dangerous. Plus those speeding stirring up dust is a real nuisance. Some of those machines are tearing up cart paths with those knobby tires and excessive speed. Plus you have the inconsiderate people who leave the cart running for the a/c or heat while waiting to shoot. Breathing diesel fumes while shooting isn't fun.

For sure the dust issue with golf carts is real. My cart is covered in it after a day of shooting. Biggest worry is getting grit into the gun so now it gets taken down and cleaned/new grease after every outing.

Do you do that stuff with your cart.

99% of shooters with carts are very nice.

Easiest protection would be to use a simple gun slip when not shooting

Most are reasonably considerate but the few offenders do create a bad feeling among some shooters without question.

My cart is all of 10 horsepower and slow and quiet and just fine for me. All a driver needs to do is use common sense. When you overtake shooters on foot slow down and give them space. No one likes to be buzzed past in a cloud of dust and flying gravel

When I approach a station and someone is in the stand shooting I stop short of the position and only proceed when the shooter is reloading or shooters rotate

Be aware of your surroundings. Be considerate and all is good.

I agree.......I love the guy that fly's around the course and station hop, then as fate would have it, these squads and groups end up asking to jump in front of our squad and "shoot through" as they "had a backup" or whatever.

There are people that use carts very dangerously, but there are ones that are good with carts. I will admit as someone that wears contacts the dust is bad, and sometimes it's like people drive worse when they see it. I swear.
