If you think the situation re: shot shells is bad, take a look at pistol ammo. 3x the price if you can find any. Shot shells are just up about 15% and are still relatively available if you search the internet. Too broad of brushstroke to be true. I bought 45ACP, 9mm, and .22 the other day at Academy - $24.99/45ACP, $13.99 for 9MM, $24.99/brick of .22 And they had over 100 boxes (200 rounds per box) of 62 grain .223 greentip Thanks for that news. It is good to hear. Sorry if my info was faulty. I am just telling what I have seen at low price leaders on the internet. Look at ammoseek.com and you will see what I mean. And thst site includes Academy. Go figure. I guess there is a very wide range. This wasn't Academy online; this was in the physical store. No matter. Ammoseek includes in-store merchandise.

Lucky me. I had an opportunity to buy ammo at a very good price. I did. And since, fate has kept me from shooting a single target. Every time I walked past the shelves with that ammo I rued that I "over purchased" and wished I hadn't bought so much. It appears I didn't purchase too much.
Dumb luck is better than no luck. I hope I get the opportunity to use it.

The two Walmart stores near me have virtually empty ammunition cases and shelves. Not sure if they pulled it or were just sold out
Fortunately I have a pretty good supply of reloads, other factory ammo I bought previously and quite a bit of reloading components to run through the Mec 9000 this winter. With the year as it was I shot about half as much as I normally would so didn’t eat into the inventory at the normal rate
Like the other times, this current situation should eventually work itself out. Supply should improve. Prices might not return to the lower levels but most everything has been going up of late. Gas is about the only exception
Everyone just hang in there.

Agreed, but shooting SC is the safest public activity I can find to do. Our club is almost always deserted. At least one course is at all times. So a little alcohol to spray on the controllers and all is good. But that takes ammo. Oh well.

Primers are the weak link in the supply chain right now for reloading. They are out of stock at all the usual places.

It was on the NEWS tonight said to deter and prevent looters from creating more problems. What's wrong with armed guards to shoot ANY LOOTERS. That would take 2 to 5 dead thieves and looting would end.

It can still be purchased.

It was reported Wal-Mart pulled all guns and ammo in fear of looting after the election. Probably a good idea given the lack of response to the looting. I guess I’m just old but I always thought we shot looters. But what did I know?

Yesterday Walmart said they were putting all the ammo and guns back on the shelves.
WTF?

Guns and ammo are on display and for sale in South Carolina Walmarts. The selection is very limited, and the prices have gone up to match Academy.
