Hello everyone. My uncle Benny just sent a bunch of information to all of the "computer geeks" in the family. It is a plea for information on a shotgun that's been in the family since 1937 and the object of a "friendly family fued". If those actually exist.
He tells me this: He bought it used in 1937. He says it is:
a Volunteer, single barrel, hammer gun, 20-gauge choke. Made in USA. Serial number: A1004486. Almost certainly sold by Belknapp Hardware Co of Louisville, KY.
Probably made by either Crescent Arms Co or Iver-Johnson, both of whom manufactured firearms for Belknapp Hardware Co.
What he wants to know is this: Who actually manufactured the gun and when?
I'd appreciate any help. Can you point me towards books that can help ID the gun? I can get pics of it, but don't have any right now.
