Just saw a Huglu 101 tc on the web and it looks nice. Says it was introduced at the 2003 Grand. Anyone had any experience with this gun ? Check it out at http://www.hugluarms.com/home.htm

I can't imagine dropping 2 grand on a huglu. I'd imagine most people would feel the same way. The gun looks nice on the site though.

:D
I recently purchased a very slightly used Huglu Trap 101 with 34" barrel from Gander Mountain for $800 out the door with a hard case. After adjusting the comb for my shooting style and getting a pair of Briley choke tubes, I am breaking 23 - 24 from the 16 yard line regularly. I shoot 1 oz #8 shot at 1200 fps and find the gun has a very soft recoil. In short I really like the gun. I only have about 1,000 rounds through it and it still very tight. I don't know how well it will hold up it the long run, but I believe I will be able to shoot it for several years as long as I keep it lubericated and clean. :D

Is this a new company importing Huglu? I thought that only CZ and DeHaan imported these guns now.

I have a Huglu 101TC with a 34" and 32" barrels. I had a mercury recoil reducer installed, and a barrel weight added to the single barrel. I shot it in high school and compete with it in college. I bet ive put close to 20-30,000 rounds through it since i started shooting it. It is a nice gun and worth the money. I still get a chuckle when I beat guys with Kolars, Beretta's etc. Armsco made one hell of a combo. To bad they didnt stick around, but you can still find a simular gun from DeHann. If you can find one I would take a good look! I wish i could find another one :(

I believe the 101 is the Dehann U4 Trap.

I dont have the 101 but I do own a Huglu o/u that I bought in Turkey. I love this little gun. Shot clays and trap today with it and smoked the competition on the 16 yard line. They were shooting a BT 99 and some really fancey over and under. Did I mention they were shooting 12 ga and mine is a 20? :) Nothing wrong with a Huglu and the Turkish walnut stock is very nice looking.

CZ and Dehaan both import Huglus, and so does a company out of Texas called TR Imports. TR Imports is where I bought my huglu (202b, sxs 20 ga.). Good prices, and more (read: cheaper) options here than at the other two. Since DeHaan switched to all custom guns, for the money I'd check them out first.

The 101 B Trap is pretty much equal to the De Haan U5E, aka English Sporter. The main difference I see between the gun pictured at the link above and my gun is the receiver; mine was black chome, and with very minimal engraving (maybe 5-10%). Then again, I paid quite a bit less than $2K (about $1395, IIRC).

I bought one in 07/05, and put about 24,000 rds. though it. I did break and replace both firing pins (bottom at about 3500 and top at about 7500 rds). Also, the stock cracked. All this was taken care of for free under warranty. The gun performed well, and in fact I won a Gold Medal at the World Skeet Championships last October. I do shoot in the lower classes, but a Gold is a Gold, nonetheless. I sold it only because I had the burning desire to upgrade to a Krieghoff, and I needed the $$ to offset some of the expenses. All in all, I thought it was a pretty good gun for the $$$.
