Anyone familiar with old Marlin .410s? This gun is lever action, and according to serial number was made in 1883.

Does anyone have an idea of this gun's value? It is in real nice condition. It appears to be shootable and has a real smooth action.

The Marlin RIFLE # 4386 was made in 1883. However the Marlin Model .410 SHOTGUN #4386 was made between 1929 and 1932. It was a lever action shotgun made on the Model 1893 action with some revisions.

Because this gun is based on the Model 1893 there is no chance that it could be produced in 1883, as Natty told you.

This is an interesting gun in that it was only offered to Marlin stockholders as a promotional item. There were two barrel legnths ( 22" or 26" - both choked full) and two versions, Regular and Deluxe.
