I was thinking of going to a stock fitter and getting myself a stock custom fitted for me. Any suggestions for good Canadian stock fitters?

Thanks!

I checked with some friends in the know and have received the following suggestions. The highest recommendation was for Eddie von Atzigen in Peterborough, Ontario. Address and phone number follows. Not sure about a website.

Eddie von Atzigen
The Custom Shop
890 Cochrane Crescent
Peterborough, ONT
K9H 5N3
705 742 6693

Next was Klaus Hiptmeyer in Eastman, Quebec. I’ve been told that he does very good stock work, but I don’t have any more information than his name and the town.

Stephen Milton at Precision Arms in King City, Ontario is said to do good work providing you can get him to do the work personally. He’s British and I’ve been told he can tend to be rather brusque. His website is:
http://www.precisionarms.ca/WebPages/SplashPage.htm

Hope this helps to give you a starting point.

+1 to the work done by Klaus.
I have met him last week and he fitted my gun and after seeing how he works on a wooden stock I decided to leave the stock with him so he can refinish it.

Nice guy to deal with! and he has a pattern board where you can try/test your adjustments until it feels right.
He can also make a stock from a blank, go see him if you need your stock adjusted.
I drove 600 KM to do so, it is worthwhile.

Here is his information:

750 Ch. du Contour - P.O. Box 136

Eastman, Quebec, Canada J0E 1P0

Autoroute 10 East - Exit 106 - Right (East) on Route 112 for 2 Km (1 1/2 Miles)

Please contact by Telephone: (450) 297-0668, or Fax: (450) 297-1240

Just an update to an old thread....
Klaus Hiptmeyer is no longer doing any gunsmithing work due to declining health.
