Does anyone here have any practical experience with both Briley and Trulock choke tubes? If so I would be grateful for your overall impression and reasons why you feel one is superior to the other. If one really is superior, that is.

Based on what I have seen at the patterning board, they are pretty much the same. Both have similar fit and finish but I like the look of Briley's better. Briley has a bigger name and I can buy the X2 chokes for $28.95 from Larry's. If you ever want to sell the gun or the chokes later, Briley has a more recognizable name.

Briley makes an excellent product. If you think you may want to sell this gun later and cost is not an issue I would go with the Briley tubes. If you are looking for an excellent choke tube at a very reasonable price you should take a look at Carlson's chokes. Website is www.carlsonschokes.com. I have a full set of extended Carlson's choke tubes for my Browning XS Skeet that I purchsed for $22.95 per tube (vs. $34.95 per tube if I had purchased Briley's). On a 7 tube set that saved me $77!! I know many guys who shoot the Carlson's chokes and have not heard any complaints. They also carry a lifetime warranty.

I just bought a Trulock IM for my BT-99. I recommend it -- product and service -- without the least hesitation.

Product -- I switched to the Truelock Improved Modified and got an immediate improvement from the 16 and in HC. (I am using the Browning Full for practice and the Truelock IM for competition)

Service -- I ordered an IM choke and, it because of an error in filling the order, a Skeet 2 choke arrived three days later instead. One phone call and the IM choke arrived a couple of days afterwards, no questions asked and they said to keep the Skeet 2. I will gladly give them my business in the future.

Jack, you did good! That Skeet II tube is one of my favorite on a Sporting clays field! Even the long shot in Skeet, great in the field! Too bad they didn't screw up MY order! I got just what I ordered the first time! Couldn't be happier with the Trulock tubes! Look just like the Briley tubes some of my friends have and my rocks break just as well or better than thiers. No, I haven't patterned them, haven't had a need to yet, but I suppose I will sometime.

Anybody know how to find out the dimensions for Briley?

Trulock lists theirs for the Invector Plus (i.e. the cylinder is .740). All I can find for Briley is constriction (-.005, etc.).

The Browning website lists the Invector Plus bore as .742. Obviously aftermarket manufacturers have to go a little larger to ensure fit. Be nice to know what Briley starts at so I'm comparing apples to apples.

Briley assumes the Invector Plus barrel bore is .740". This means their Cylinder choke is .740" and their Skeet choke is .735". Improved Cylinder is .730", etc.
