anyone have the take down instructions for this gun, trigger assembly and oter parts. it probably has nevr been pulled out and cleaned in 45 years.. it was a hand me own from my dad.

As bel-dad said, repost in the Browning section and the grand wallahs of the A-5 will be able to answer every question.

You probably won't need to do that much to the gun. A-5's are remarkable in their ease of maintenance. I'd suggest taking off the barrel and fore end, wiping down the magazine tube, swabbing out the barrel, cleaning the chamber with some 0000 steel wool around a brush, and giving it a go. Check the friction ring setting (there's a permanent thread in the Browning area on this).

If you're dead set on pulling it apart farther, please consult with the experts and get a good set of gunsmithing screwdrivers designed for the A-5.

I recently got a 1914 FN A-5 up and running not doing much more than described above.
