Hi there,

I lost the friction ring for my Remington Model 11 20ga Sportsman.
I found a replacement friction ring at a local shop which came from Brownell's. The Brownell's friction ring is for an A5 16ga/20ga, according to the packaging. I placed it on my mag tube under the brass friction piece and it appears to fit just fine (on top of the recoil spring with beveled edge pointed towards the muzzle). The only thing I'm worried about is this friction ring is a little "loose", meaning it is not a tight fit over the mag tube as is the brass friction piece. although it seems to fit just right once the brass friction piece is placed on top of it. I cannot remember if the original friction ring was like that or or a snug fit, like the friction piece. Is the A5 friction ring universal to both Browning A5's and Rem. Model 11's?

Thank you,

Cliff

I just checked one of my many model 11's. The friction ring is quite a bit looser than the bronze part. There are outside and inside bevels on the ring. The outside bevel should face the spring. If there is no outside bevel, the inside bevel should face away from the spring.

You should use Remington M11 friction rings in your gun. call Numrich at 866-686-7424. Your part number should be 55800-3 and it costs $7.35. Be sure to talk with a rep.

Good luck!

A5 Guy,

Thanks for your suggestion. I just ordered a new friction ring & friction piece from Numrich. Appreciate it.
