I've seen the M-9 Bayonet mounted on either a Mossberg or Remington shotgun. I see what looks like a lug for the barrel ring on the M-9 on the Rem. 870. I never looked for the other mounting lug.

Having a couple M-9 Bayonets, I'd like to find a shotgun that mounts them. What am I looking for?

Most Mossberg 590's have a bayo lug and will accept M7 or M9 bayos.

Looks like the Rem 870 has the the end mount on the extended mag tube. But I'll search stuff.

Looking at a Benelli too -- only tactical gun chambered in 3 1/2" mag.

I've never seen a bayonet lug on a Benelli.

There is a person on this forum that was making a bayonet lug for Remington 870's and I just saw (in the last couple of weeks) a place that was selling US military 870 bayonet mounts. I'll try to find it again for you.

Here's a couple of shots I found of the Remington US military mounts.

What's the cost of the m-9 bayonet, and is anything else needed to put one on a 590? The one I have layed away has the lug on it. The only bayonet i've ever had was on a SKS. Also how are the blades for taking an edge?

590s are set up with all you need to attach a bayo. Bayo price varies - you can buy new or used. You can use either the M7 or M9 bayo, or reporductions there of.

Here is a link to a good retailer of Lan-Cay M9s: http://www.areseod.com/servlet/StoreFront

Here is a link to all you will ever need to know about M9s: http://www.m9bayonet.com/

From the looks of it, that would work on any shotgun with a mag tube extension.

Most bayonets make poor field knives, the m9 style is very good,The marines newest is also good , the blade is based on the ontario knifeco. "spec-plus fighter. I've had one of these knives as my heavy duty camp knife for 6 years, it is very tough. I'd expect it to be a very tough bayo.

I know people love there 870s, I kind of feel left out, however,
as far as a bayonetted shotgun goes.........

But on a 590
I sure feel better with that one piece mag tube,
and notice double the support between the tube and the barrel.

Try to imagine youself thusting full force to save you life and the mag tube falls apart.

Whats plan B???

as for support for the bayonet and mag tube then thrusting, there is no way your going to bend or snap off the mag tube that we make, the bayonet mount is far foward enough that there is no flex in the mag tube at all, we have tested it, and snapped many an m7 and m9 bayonett and still no movement in the mag tube.

Does anyone know whos making those short handled M7 bayonets as seen on some of the duracoat ads. Their intended for 10.5 inch barrel M16s. I'm interested in getting one to work with bbb's lug so it can be mounted farther forward so it wont interfere with a surefire forend.

If you are using your shotgun defensively with the bayonet, I'd imagine you are working on plan D.

Banshee: Details?

Plan D can happen, in the real world things can go from plan A to plan Z faster then you can scream LOADING!
If you did not have a plan "D" then you may just wish you had .
