Hey folks,
Quick question for anyone who has had their gun's worked on by Bass Pro Gunsmiths. I'm thinking of having my local Bass Pro here in Cincinnati do an Action Polishing. Their sign said they only charged $25, which is cheaper then a lot of places and I'm not going to have to pay for shipping. Plus being local I don't have to worry about it being lost in the mail or an FLL transfer.
So if you have had any experience, good or bad, with Bass Pro Gunsmiths, I'd like to hear from you and what you had done..
Thanks in advance...
Matt

The one located here in Grapevine, Texas has a really well equiped shop, and a very nice gunsmith. He has done work for a buddy of mine a couple of times, and he has been very impressed both with the quality of the work and the quality of the customer service he has received. Funny thing is I have been doing business with this store for several years, and I only discovered that they have gunsmith services about 2 months ago. They don't seem to advertise it much.

I have only bought one shotgun from the Bass Pro shops Gurnee Illinois store. After I picked it up I asked by the way what are your gunsmith's hours and the salesman said we don't have one. I was really shocked. I usually like the store where I buy my guns to have a gunsmith in case something is not right on the gun it can be fixed right there as opposed to having to make a trip back to the factory.

A friend of mine's husband is a gunsmith for Basss Pro, but not around here. But, I do know he is good. You might want to check some references.
I know Bill Smith in Millville is good. That's maybe 12 miles North up U.S. 27 from Bass Pro.

Does Bill Smith work for a gun shop locally? or is he independent?
