These loads are listed as 26 grams of shot, minimum powder. Anybody know what the velocity is supposed to be? How many oz of shot is 26 grams?

David,
That would be approx 15/16 oz. of shot, and if I'm not mistaken they run at less than 1000 FPS. About 960 I think.

Pretty wimpy loads in my estimation, but they should work for Skeet loads, although they would definitely require some change in leads.

They are listed at 950fps on the boxes that I have.

Local Wally World had them on closeout for $4.79 a few years ago. IMHO far too slow. IF You want the lightest 12 ga available for a child or someone recoil sensitive they are probably THE choice. But they are SO SLOW I did have to make some lead changes for skeet. They also show less muzzle blast or noise than any std load. First shot with one You think You just shot a reload with a 1/2 charge of powder!! LOL.

RP had a 7/8 oz "managed recoil" load at 1100 fps that I liked far more. Same deal...bought a few flats on closeout...but wish I could find more of them. VERY nice loads for skeet. Like shooting a 20 ga.

The only thing I use these low noise Winchesters for is dog training. They're not too loud around a young dog and will bring down pigeons. So they're great for that purpose. But I think they're too slow for anything else. I think the box says 980fps.

I shot 10 of the shells in question at skeet yesterday from stations stations 2,3 4 and 5 to see how they worked. I made no adjustment on lead and smashed 9 out of 10. The one I missed was not the shells fault. Others on the squad commented about the solid breaks.

I do like the idea of the STS managed recoil loads better.

Picked up 3 boxes of them at Walmart last week for $5.00 ea.

Shot them up Sunday and was not impressed. My grandson shot the first box and didn't hit his average on the skeet range. I shot a box and did about average.

Also had one shell that had a sharp piece on the base out of the box.

I won't buy anymore.
