The 2008 Standard Catalog of Firearms does not list a Model 911 or 911L I have found several errors and/or omissions in this reference so it's possible that for some reason the model 911 wasn't listed. Are you sure about the Model number? You may want to contact Savage Arms Co. for info.

Thanks for your reply. the gun belonged to a friend of mine.Its old and a little rusty around the model number. It might very well be a 311 instead. I`ll have to look again

could it be the westminster 911 as i have a friend that has one in about 95% fine gun

I would bet you have a 311. They did not make an "L" model. It must be pretty rusty/worn. Probably a 311A.
