So my buddy has been playing with his Raptor since buying it and is now having an issue. The gun will not feed from the magazine tube.

He hasn't had a chance to test thise while firing but what he manually cycles the bolt, it ejects the cartridge, the feed ramp does it's thing and the bolt slides forward with no shell. He says he can see there's a tab that retains the shells in the magazine but it doesn't release them. The only way to get the tab to release the shells in the magazine is to push the bolt release button on the side of the weapon.

He pulled it apart to clean it and he made a plug for it and when he reassembled and checked it was the first time he had the issue. He has the issue with or without the plug.

Any thoughts?

Well he just shot it and it cycled fine, but he still can't get it to chamber a round from the tube by cycling manually

Which Raptor is it Gas or Inertia operated?
This gun has an automatic magazine cutoff. See the link below for more details.

http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtop ... sc&start=0

Pulling the trigger on an empty chamber with rounds in the magazine will also release one just like pressing the cartridge release button/lever. On the Raptor 712/720 pressing the bolt release botton on the side of the receiver will let more than one round come out of the magazine if there are more than one. This will cause a jam on top of the carrier. If you press the carrier down and hold it down and then press it. You will speed unload the magazine tube. The same goes for the 612,620, and 912 models.

how does he turn the magazine cut off, off? I'm pretty damn sure it's an inertia gun considering the big spring around the mag tube.

You don't! It's done automatically each time you pull the bolt back. No way of shutting it off as it's just part of the way the gun operates.

Both of the Gas and Inertia operated Raptor models have their recoil spring around their magazine tubes.

Sure. With a round in the chamber you would just press the cartridge release button/lever. The Gas gun has a small button at the back of the carrier/front of the trigger guard. The Inertia model has a lever that sticks out of the front side of the trigger gaurd on the right hand side of the gun. Then pull the bolt back and let it go foward chambering the round.

With and empty chamber you can either pull the trigger and dry fire the gun or press that cartridge release button/lever. Then pull the bolt back and let it go foward chambering the round.
