Just found out my Mossy 500 20 gauge has a short forend tube. Now custom forends wont fit..Does anybody know if 500 20 gauges can get larger forend tubes? Why would mine come with a smaller one? yes size matters here!! Where can I get one cheap and quick?

OK....Maybe I didn't see what I was reading...sorry.

You want to put a customized forearm on your shotgun, but can evidently only find one for a 12 ga, right?...maybe?

I'd put a call into whomever is making the "customized" stuff and ask them if they make it for a 20. Most aftermarket items for shotguns aredesigned around 12 ga guns.

What hes saying is the slide tube assembly is too short. For aftermarket forends he needs a longer, 7 5/8'' slide. His is currently 6 3/4'' and they switched to the shorter tube in 1996. If he wants a new forearm hes going to either have to go to mossberg for a factory synthetic that will fit, or he could try and find a longer slide tube assembly.

Here is what Numrich has:

Get the 20 gauge, 7 5/8'' slide tube with the double bar action. For 24.95, you can't beat that price either. The 12 gauges are a tad more pricey.

To install the tube assembly you'll need to look up your dissassembly guide and dissassemble it.

If you have any more questions, just holler.

Will the 20 Ga slide assembly work on a 12 Ga?

Reason im asking is i bought a Combat Mod with Recoil Reduction for my Maverick 88 so the little lady can use it too. but i need a slide assembly in order to change out the forend. and not really wanting to pump another $65 into it if i can get it for half that lol.

I bought Mossberg12Ga Tactical Shotgun Package
http://www.combathunting.com/MOSSBERG-M ... ckage.html

The little lady has a mild form of cerebral palsy affecting her right hand so she cant grip the forend thus why i wanted the forend with the strap so she could slide her hand in to pump it and keep better control.

So basically im just trying to find the cheapest way of making this work for her if possible.
